Value Added Programme

Wudang Wushu (Martial Arts)

Wudang Wushu (martial arts) was introduced in our centre since 2009 as part of our value added programmes to our K1 & K2 children attending our childcare programme.

The Management of MacPherson Sheng Hong Childcare Centre believes that the introduction to Wudang Wushu (martial arts) will:

1. Extend and widen the scope of physical experience to children beyond the curriculum activities

2. Allow children to enjoy sufficient amount of exercise and sharpen their motor skills

3. Inculcate good body postures and be focus in proper breathing techniques

4. Improve children’s confidence and self-awareness

Studies have also shown that children who actively participate in physical activities have better cognitive skills, longer attention span, improved communication skills, better problem solving skills and positive self-image and self-esteem.

All participating children are required to come in their PE attire, socks and comfortable shoes during their Wudang Wushu Class.
